Know what came back, and where it goes

Scan returned parcels at the dock, keep a return-to-sender address on every account and see which clients have the most returns.

Returns pile up without a record

Failed and cancelled deliveries come back to the depot in a crate. Someone has to work out whose they are, whether they have been logged and where they should be sent. Until that is done, the client is asking and you do not have an answer.

What you get.

  • Barcode return scan

Scan a parcel’s barcode as it comes back and submit it. There is no retyping of consignment numbers.

  • Return and cancelled lists

Each account has a list of returned and cancelled jobs. Staff can check what has come back without opening every job.

  • Scanned or not scanned

Returned packages are shown as scanned or not scanned, so the parcels still missing from the dock are easy to spot.

  • Return-to-sender address

Every account holds its own return-to-sender address. Parcels go back to the right client, not a single shared depot.

  • Return rate by account

The dashboard highlights accounts with a high return rate, so you can raise it with the client before it becomes a habit.

How it works.

  1. Step 1

    Delivery fails or is cancelled

The job drops into the account’s return and cancelled list.

  2. Step 2

    Scan on arrival

Warehouse staff scan the barcode when the parcel reaches the depot, and submit it.

  3. Step 3

    Check what is outstanding

Compare scanned against not scanned to see which returns have not yet been received.

  4. Step 4

    Send it back

Return the parcel to the address held on the client’s account.

Why it matters.

  • No lost returns

A scan record means you can show a client that a parcel is back with you.

  • Faster dock work

Scanning a barcode is quicker and less error-prone than typing consignment numbers.

  • Better client conversations

Return rates by account give you facts to bring to a review, rather than a hunch.

Common questions.

How are returned parcels recorded?

Staff scan the barcode on the Return Scan screen and submit it. The parcel is then counted as scanned.

Can each client have a different return address?

Yes. A return-to-sender address is set on each account, so returns can go to different places for different clients.

Can I see which accounts return the most?

Yes. The dashboard shows accounts with a high return rate, alongside returned packages that are scanned or not yet scanned.
